Sleepless nite

ard 10 mins to 8pm... i received a msg frm my dear dear... stating 'OMG' i was wonderin wat had happened by lookin at the time, probably he juz reached hm n got 2 noe another secret of his brother or sumthin... thus askin him wat happened... but his reply nv did came... n i panicked.. juz when i wanna msg him again... he called... soundin flustered... asked him wat's wrong n he told mi tat he almost got involved in a head-on car accident !!

my heart dropped... den he explained n said it was ALMOST... he's alright nw... though still on his way home.. it was actually nt his carelessness but e cabby's recklessness tat they almost met wif the acident...

he was actually drivin on a straight smooth road... reachin a cross junction when frm the side, a cab wanted to turn towards his opposite-side lane. the cab was blocked by a bus yet he took the risk n turned... without knowin tat my dear's car was already approaching the cross-junction !! he saw the cab comin n dere was little time 4 him to step on e brakes thus he pushed on n swerved n managed to drive past the cabbie...

it was such a near death incident tat at the moment he called me... he was still in shock... i too had no idea wat i was goin to do...if it really did happened... dere had been too many cases of accidents recently on the papers, site collapses n explosion, bus collisions... and almost all caused death... im gettin more n more worried abt his safety at work n while drivin... nothin is expected.. n u juz cant get too careful wif things ard u...

afterwhich it's gonna b souless days ahead.... wif no one comin into the library to study... n make noise... though tat's peace n quiet for me.. but den...e time ain easy to pass.... :(

been sourcin places for my fren, miko to move but it looked like she gonna haf to find a tep place to rent n live in first... coz her mother had hasily sold their current place, handover in mid-nov den they haf yet get a new place to stay... sumtimes movin house ain tat excitin n fun afterall...

How 2 Cook Rice....

Sigh.... nv did noe tat dere was sum tatic into cooking a pot of rice... whenever u watch tv or going to ppl's house to eat... e rice would normally b the least tat e cook would be bothered wif... sumtimes... ppl can even realised tat they FORGOT to cook the rice when meal was to b served.... ekek

but............. when it comes to e hand of e expert (= my dad :Þ), it's a whole lot of different story.

Juz when I thought tat the steamboat incident was way over.... knowin tat I really lack skill n ingredients in cookin the soup base. My dad popped mi another dissatisfaction last nite. I juz reached home ard 12mn frm another cooking session (preparing dinner at 9pm wif my bf's elder bro, wen hun, coz everyone's yet to eat, n was missin home-cooked food), n was feelin a little woozy frm my bottle of champagne, wanting to go to bed already... but my dad stopped me... askin me,"did u guys cooked the rice?" "yeah, I was the one who cooked it. y?" i replied. my dad was den shakin his head n explained,"no one complained abt ur rice? u guys din cook fried rice i suppose?" lookin confused n puzzled, i asked my dad wat was so wrong abt it.... coz to my knowledge, tat was the third pot of rice tat was cooked... 1st pot was prepared by wen hun, but consulted me if the water was enough... den subsequent 2 pots were cooked by me... even tonight's dinner.... i was the one who cooked e rice but the four of us managed to finish it all.... wifout a grain left... or maybe... one or two tat was stuck to the bottom of the pot... :>

my dad den explained," not tat i'm tryin to pull ur face down... maybe ur frens ain dare to comment abt ur cookin, worryin tat u might be angry.... but as ur father, i can tell u tat ur rice is too dry...

Receipe foR sToCk 4 sTeaMboAt

Euphoria 2004 was dam shoik... was actually thinking of going back early coz my dear dear wanna send me home... {e other day when i was out clubbing.... knew he ain happi abt it coz he wanted to fetch me too but waited till almost 2am me din msg he den he surrendered to 'zhou gong' (zzzzzz), worst of all i was only back home at 5am...} but they smartly placed all the good singers at the end of the show....

i was dere with michelle, chengyuan n yuemin (frens of sec. school). we met up at 5.30pm thinkin we were late... den we reached the Padang field n realised nth happening... so we hang ard thinkin it might b startin soon... den at 6pm, Jean Danker, Carrie Chong, and Mary came out to announce saying tat the DJ boys was b entertainin us for the next 2 hours... okie big deal... maybe they are good in their music... but when they appeared at 6pm, it was all head banging thru... till 6.30pm, me n michelle gave up coz we din enjoy the house music n the noddin heads of 2 ang mo.. (one even had his hair braided n dye of green colour.... michelle was sayin he looked lye a dinosaur... but we 4got wat it was called.. ekek). we decided to go grab a bite since she din take anything solid all day n the finger food tat the guys bought from the stall within Padang was dam expensive.... 6 pieces of chicken franks S$3 !! a pop of Tiger beer S$4 !!

so... confirmin tat the actual event is gonna start at 8pm... me n michelle went out of our confined area n settled down @ Funan KFC.... ate our chicken, chill out under the air-con n chattin away... occasionally feelin kinda gulity too... coz our guys r still hangin @ the open field of Padang sweatin away listenin to the 2 ang mo jammin boring house / trance music...

when we went back at 8pm, shinwa from korea started the ball rolling... {haiz... too bad KENBOA ain ard... bet he gonna love tis... } we were like so close upfront wif them n listenin to them sing frm the latest hits, new creations to the older ones... den came All-4-One, one of the older group frm my generation {kinda listen 2 them durin sec school days}... singin wif them to the song of 'I Swear' n acapala (singin without music, purely voices)... den comes Palmy of Thailand singin her hit song "I want to Sing" {title translated in English, catch it on FM 933} n oso singin "zombie" of cranberries !!... woah can she hold her vocal.... she's a half thai, half belgium... no wonder lah... afterwhich, the crowd screamin away for........................... MACHI !!... singin 'song' {meanin shiok in taiwan dialet} den with kenny n steven takin off their tops plus the latter comin down stage gelin into the crowd... boy were the gals HIGH.... even chengyuan was feelin pity coz we were juz right beside the barrier where steven was but we stood juz behind e camera stand.. thus he din walked to our side.... (-_-*), when everyone was on high, Lena Park came out wif a powerful voice.... followed by SHIN n Michael Learns to Rock.... all thru till 1am, were we reluntant to go...

we were on our way home by 1.15am, sendin michelle all e way back to boon lay den we went kalang old airport rd to have supper cum breakfast.... coz by den it was already 2am... n he needs to be at work while i'm goin marketin wif his brother...

aft 4hours of 'beauty' sleep... i was woken by my phone... askin if i was readi to go... den wen han told me he'll b reachin in 10 mins... omg...!!! i was still lyin in bed.... struggling wif e sleepy bugs... no choice... hurrily got out of bed n wash up... was done by 7.30am, wen han came picked me n we drove to the sim ave market.... almost the whole market noes him... coz their mom goes there to do marketin too.... afterwhich, we went back n kept the fish n meat chilled den it was the 2nd rd of marketin at sheng siong.... followed by breakfast n a prank call to another fren.... (he was suppose to join us for marketin, but suppose he was studyin for his exam all nite thru... thus we din disturb him) still we wanted to make him relax a bit thus the prank, askin "y he ain ready to go market.... it's already 9 plus n there wun b anything left if we r still not going."

back at home, it was preparation all thru till 2pm.... lunch was bought back n after tat we went out to get drinks n gas for the stove... later in the day, we tried the soup..... it's was power.... tasted absolutely delicious.... thus here's the ingredient....

1. 3 fish bone
2. 300 grams yellow beans
3. water
4. a bit of fish meat
5. slices of ginger
6. pinch of salt
7. chinese cabbage
8. carrot

for additional n beta taste :

1. big pork rib bone or chicken bone can replace fish bone
2. dried scallop
3. shui mei (sour plum)
4. salted vegetable
5. ikan bilis

after the soup was done, we had to prepare ingredients tat we wanted to cook for the steamboat.. there were crabsticks, prawns, fishballs, tuna fish, chicken breast meat, hotdogs, vege, sotong, dumplings, etc.... we worked our way thru till 4 plus 5, ocassionally forgettin this n tat.... den finally table was set by 6pm.... we den waited for the rest of the ppl to return b4 beginning our feast at ard 7pm...

woah..... nv thought tis was all hard work.... nthin compared to e earlier one i had @ my aunt's place coz der was > 3 pairs of hands workin together bz preparin.... dere's onli 1 word to describe a housewife.... "power", salute to all the mothers n wives out there....

sigh.... felt so much wanna slp.... but yet i cant... in another 30 mins m suppose to be on my way to work.. yet m here blogging... ekek

not tat i dun wanna get readi.. juz tat i was up since 5.30am, cook our breakfast den had to wake my bro up at 6am..thinkin by e time i finish cookin he shld be out frm the loo yet he slack till 6.15am still dun wan to get up... now occupin the washroom... *arhg* (X_X)

but still.... m feelin happi tat m doin sumthin 4 mi "huang shang" (king)... hahha... tis time rd reali break record le... 5 days thru i was bz in the mornin, preparin breakfast as early as 5.30am... den summore first 3 days i was oni home after midnite.... ekek... but still think he's e poor thing coz he needs to drive us to n fro... n i noe how difficult it is when u're tired... my dad used to drive n he's always complainin when we wanna go out for supper..... {a-ri-ga-too, dear :>}
