last 2 days oso... thought lost my thumbdrive.... kept searchin high n low at my workdesk, called e counter, chked @ counter, called my dearie at hm to chk for mi... DUN Haf.... kept thinkin cant b i left in my uniform coz i took out everything le ah.... went to e loo.... thinkin aiyah try try c uniform haf anything...

in d end.....left my thumbdrive in my uniform's pocket 0-_-"

5-10-2005 : Commonwealth Games 2006 - Queen Baton relay (QBR) came to National Library... The participants climbed up the stairs (all 16 floors) and reach the POD where we (supporters) saw the baton made of 24k gold !!!!!! There was also Susilo's wife, the table tennis player who attended the event....

First Sat ever... working.... sian... though nt really 1st time lah.... (previously with OLP - Sat & Sun classes..., wif my uncle - all day @ shop...) but den... still it's my 1st ever sat 4 a full-time job.... thank god it's alt sat lor... if nt... omg...

guess until i meet my reportin officer (RO) tmr mornin... den maybe will haf a clearer pic of wat's expected of mi to do lor.... juz received an email frm RO statin wat section i'm in charge of... think workload will come in after tis bah... looks kinda easy to handle but who noes wat goes on outside of the 4 walls nw...

FYI, i'm nt a pathetic gal who sits by e counter... dey R actually TRAINED PROFESSIONALS who answers enquiries and does research work for lecturers, writers, uni students... etc....
where i come under? after the librarians who SITS @ the counter lor... i do get roster to the counter too... but nt so often lah... maybe once a week bah.. at times nite shift too.

wat do i do after counter den... balek kapomg?? u WAIT long long ah.... when i'm nt at counter... usually i'll b hiding behind the main library compound (pssh, e glass doors tat state STAFF ONLY) yeh... i might be replyin to enquiries tat i've nt completed at counter or follow up wif phone calls... ah boh... sortin out my collection of materials n cataloguing the serials lor...

so nw u noe ah... dun go messing ard wif e COLLECTION at Lvl 11 of Lee Kong Chian Ref Lib... I'm in charge here....

ekek... hmm wonder if i'm revealing any confidential info by statin wat i'm doin leh... beta nt say too much den.... mi signed papers to 'SEAL' my mouth tight de.... dun wanna get myself involved in any lawsuit.... hahahaha

Beautiful Bride

Juz attended my sec sch classmate's ROM on 8 sept 2005. 2nd ROM tat i've attended so far. But things ain as smooth flowing as it looked on e 1st tat i went for.

Let's juz say, it was a long long wait juz for a few moment of quiet time and blessings for the couple. Minutes after we entered JOY room, justice of peace spoke and made the couple exchange their rings and said their vows. We were 'rushed' out of the room, without any other photos being able to be taken in the room with the newly-wed nor the justice. sian....

but still we managed to get a few other pics taken while we were waiting to enter the ROM and also later at lunch at e Mansonic restaurant which is juz a walk away and served nice lunch buffet... *droolin*



When we all reached ROM to meet the bride and groom...Ladies, frm the bride's side



And we waited... to enter the JOY room. where 2 people who were singles when entering, will be officially bond together and exit as Mr n Mrs Loo... *hey, i'm nt jokin but groom's surname is really LOO*

OMG !!! i was screamin at myself when i 1st looked into the mirror n terrified at the look of my face... my left brow was arched n higher den my rite brow...!!!!!! din noticed tat at e salon wif tat tiny mirror of theirs. but nw, standing in front of my full length mirror, i cld see very obviously tat both brows r different !!!! gosh !!! i freaked out... n started msgin ppl n complaining.... tryin to work out a way to get it resolved... coz i've got a fren's ROM to attend n dearie's fren 21st b'dae party to go... i cant go in tis state... NO WaY!!!

ThUs SatuRdaY, sinCe I'vE got No DanCing LessOn, I went to get My HaIrCut n TreaTment. PreParinG mySelf for tHe upComInG fUnCtIoNs.... my hair stylist was stunned too... to c 1. mi hair so messed up n 2. mi eyebrow - unskilled done....

thus she suggested tat i do away wif all those coloured hair.. tryin to keep my length but @ e same time trim away all those by e sides... those tat makes my face n hair looked 'heavy'. Noeing my brows are terrible (at e moment)... she thought she cld help mi by covering it up wif tonnes of fringe

wah lah... nw got tis kawaii look tat even my dad cant recognise me... even praised tat i look gd.... (pssh... it's a rare rare thingie tat my dad praises anyone... tis being e 2nd time he commented on my hair)

Gee... was happily chattin on the phone wif my dearie... and a second line beeped thru... unfamiliar no. but was wondering if it might be important, thus got off wif him n retrieved the second call.

I was juz abt to get all worried and yet excited as today was the dateline of the 2 weeks tat Sandy had earlier spoke of. I had an interview on Monday, 8 Aug and she did mentioned I should get a call from her w/i the nxt 2 weeks if nt I'll b gettin a letter to state tat my interview and application was unsuccessful.

Worried as it's gonna be another journey of job hunting... which I have been embarking on. Plus if it's gonna be as preferred by the head of panel of interviewers tat day. They gonna place me in the New Reference Library @ Bugis, which means I'm gonna have to work on Saturdays n Sundays = no time to spend with my DEARIE.... omg....

Excited as it's gonna mark the end of my no $$ to spend days....

"I'm calling to see if you're still interested in the opening of the Library Officer." said Sandy
She called to tell me that the panel has come to a decision and is interested in roping me in as a Library Officer for the New Reference Library.

aiyah... mind confused... dunno wat to write... spoke to Serene and Ian. They're both happi for mi as I've found a job... but y m I still frowning as I'm writing tis... sigh.... guess u might guess it n they both knew.... no mood to continue nw... gonna go out for appt soon.... maybe come bk refreshed will continue with the phone conversation n the part which made it difficult to make my decision...

Haiz... been looking 4 a job since Aug 1... nw oni NLB got back n asked mi to go for interview on Monday, 15 Aug.

my 'Sa Gua', heard tat if I really joined NLB and being posted to community libraries, i gonna haf to work on Sats n Suns... he painicked... ekek... at first still very supportive... say wat... "go lah, y dun join NLB, u sure can get in wan rite? den no nd to fred over jobless lor..."

Nw I confirm go try my luck, told him of my 'workin schedule' den guess wat he say... "beta go find those admin jobs u were lookin at"... ekek....

seriously, at times... i was wondering if i did the right move. by leaving DYSS so hasely or was it not a carefully thought thru decision tat i've made since june... for almost 2 weeks nw... i've been doin nothin except lookin for jobs online and surfin my emails n chattin occassionally and keepin my dearie company...

as i'm typin these... he lays dere, slpin like a baby.... totally different from the guy i saw tis mornin whom juz returned from a night of work and toil... it's been two full nites of work and today i can really see he's exhausted from it... poor boy... workin so hard to gain recognition and to earn more $$ to form his rugby team.... hehee...

no worries, we'll work hard together and get thru tis... rugby team.... maybe lah... ekek...

I was being interviewed by 3 ppl today. first was the manager whom i spoke to on wed, followed by 2 team leaders - one in charge of asia-pac: japan, taiwan and china? and the other asia-pac: australia and new zealand.

They looked really nice ppl, but I was really taken aback by the qns that they were asking...

"if i were to call your current empolyer, what would be the weaknesses that they might point out about you?"

"how would you see yourself delegating work to other?"

"how does your family and friends comment / look at you as?"

"did you encounter inter-conflicts with your colleagues, how did you deal with it?'

"what is your thoughts abt stress, how do you cope with stress?"

gosh, i never thought going through an interview with an international company would be that major. Really opened my eyes to a whole world...

geesh was i kinda put thru 'hell' within tat timeframe of 20mins !! can u imagine? juz 20mins and it felt like ages... previously that hour long conversation with the manager alone, wasnt tat bad.. or maybe as wat she said, it's early in the mornin and maybe the slpbug was still loiterin in her head...

confidence level - downscaled to 55%?? dunno... manager looked impress but haf to win over the other 2 leaders too...

pray hard n counting down to Monday... 3 days to go...

365 days ago... on tis very same day... I was still hard at work and even after work I still had to rush down to Tampines from Ang Mo Kio... to help out at my uncle's medical shop. Afterwhich, I received an sms, asking wat time I'm going home, do I need a ride... never did I expect... it became the ride of my life....

Driving me to a secluded area in Ponggol... searching for the stars in the sky for mi... it was a windless nite and the place was kinda packed with ppl fishing and strollin... he popped the question... but I hestitated... he was disappointed... he persisted... and when he sent mi home... I agreeded...

Looking back, it seemed like oni ytd, when it happened.... and now he becomes indispensable in my life...

2 days ago, when i was at home, he sms and told mi he was going to be late... later on, he called and mentioned he'll be coming by later to fetch mi... but since after the call... i waited for an hour... to no sign of his car... was wondering wat was e delay... tried calling his handphone and it was engaged... " maybe the batt flat" but as time passed... i was beginning to wonder... if something actually happened... tried to call a couple times more... still off... called his brothers... no one answered too... another hour passed.... i was on my feet and out the door... tryin hard to spot his vehicle... every cab and car tat might possibly haf in him... but none... den at 10pm, he sms and said he's coming... my heart sank....

when he appeared at my door step, he looked tired n exhausted.... he looked unhurt... thus i pondered and asked wat had happened... he was smiling... n passed me a FEDEX n told mi to open...
thinkin it must e my surprise for our anniversary... inside it was yet another box... den... i saw my watch... shaped in a spaceman helmet... i was stunned n speechless.... he was missing for so long juz to get my watch done... *my poor dearie* gone thru so much to get e stuff for mi n put in some much effort it make it perfect n nice for mi... i'm so touched...

last nite helped them to make last minute arrangements... packed their stuff into bags... make sure they've got all things they needed... blah blah blah... n finally went to bed at 1am...

later gonna try to make it to the airport to send them off... wanted to surprise them.. but seriously worried tat i wun make it in time... thus had to let them noe last nite tat i'll b mtg them at the airport b4 their departure... :<

Bz bz since i came bk from my trip.... friday nite made tonnes of puddings... sat spent all day buying pressies n baking kueh with mi 'po po' (bf's mom) help... rush rush... manage to get to 3rd aunt's hse by 6.30pm... den it's makan time n celebrations for all e wonder moms in the family.... sad.... forgot to bring camera... :<>
